BP 6 survey results

In all I got seventeen responses to my survey. A lot of people do enjoy the outdoors and don’t veer away from it, about 60% on the survey. At least half of their friends spend a lot of time in the outdoors. Thirteen people would rather be outside than inside for a day. Results were divided on certain aspects of the outdoors (like bugs). Majority of the people would rather live on five acres or a farm vs. a condo or gated community. And two-thirds of people would rather go out on the river for a day than go to a spa. So it seems that there are more people that are active in outdoor activities, about a sixty/forty ratio.

Article about the outdoors

              This article gave some tips for bass fishing, a part of the outdoors I enjoy regularly. The author, Joseph May, believes that skill powers over luck in bass fishing. May says that you shouldn’t always use other people’s advice because what might work for them might not necessarily work for you. Some other factors commonly overlooked are season, weather, and water temperature. They can play a huge roll in a successful outing fishing. Practical tips are better than ones claiming to be the best. He also say practice affects your skill a lot in fishing, for example practicing your casting in your backyard. Experience over time helps you figure out what ways and lures work best for you and your favorite fishing spots.

                I liked the article and agreed with most of it. Especially the part on using practical tips over ones claiming to be the best. That is something that can be applied to life in general sometimes. The article could have been a little more thorough; it focused well on some points and not so well on others. Overall it was an informative article that reminds fishermen some basic aspects of bass fishing that may get overlooked or forgotten about over time.

Gone Overboard

It’s a hot & sunny Florida day in Gainesville. I am staying in a little cabin on the Suwanee River with a friend Brandon and his family for Independence Day weekend. After sleeping in after a night of partying and having an awesome eggs and bacon breakfast we decide to go ride my jet ski and go tubing in the river below us. As we walk down the stairs of the stilt cabin and down steep heavily wooded path to the river we are excited for the hours of fun ahead.

After hooking up the rope for the tube to the back of the jet ski we take off. Brandon goes first, and his cousin Nate rides with me. We take off down the calm morning brown waters of the Suwanee River. Nate keeps edging me to go faster and faster and get the tube going side to side to see how funny of a wipe out we can make Brandon have, but we failed in getting him to fall off.

So we all had the bright idea of tying two tubes side by side and pulling both of them at the same time. As we are going down the river it is absolutely hilarious getting both of them going side to side and bumping into each other trying to knock each other off as we are flying down the river. As the speed climbs it is getting closer to someone getting knocked off their tube. But as the two boys come around on side of me, the two tubes is too much for the jet ski to handle and over the jet ski flips and so do Brandon and Nate go flying over each other when the tubes collided and finally flipped also.

The World I Live In

      My obsession is being outdoors all the time. Whether it is something as simple as going fishing on a mirror like lake or flying down a winding trail wrapping around lakes and clusters of trees on my fourwheeler. Growing up in Florida, its hard not to love the outdoors, even year round. I's used to the summer heat and the winter chills, and neither stop me from what I like doing outdoors. I love taking my jetski out on a perfectly clear sunday afternoon and riding down the river with my friends going tubing or jumping waves until the sunsets. I've always enjoyed riding four-wheelers since a little kid, being outside and going through the woods finding new challenges to get to new places to ride is what I love about it. Occasionally we will get out the tents and go camping in the cool time of year so I can feel that chilly night air on my sleeping bag. I've grown up living in the outdoors, my parents owning five acres in rural north fort myers. Mom is a huge animal person, we've always had several horses and dogs. Dad would take me fishing or out on one of the four-wheelers.
    I grew up in a family that loves the outdoors, and I've continued to do the same, constantly outside doing something.
